We are located approximately thirty miles South of Redding, California.  Heaven Sent is bordered on the North by Mount Shasta, the East by Mount Lassen and the West by the Sacramento River, situated in the center of Tehama County.  When I first stepped foot onto this property ten years ago it just felt like home.  

    I've always had a love of the land and animals.  Gardening, both floral and vegetable, has been a part of me from the moment I could walk.  Being of Italian heritage, my family was always gardening.  We raised our own chickens for meat and eggs, along with rabbits, ducks and geese.  I learned to cook and can from my Grandmother and Mother.  My Grandfather and Father instructed me in the garden and in the barn yard.   So I guess it should come as no great surprise that after living in Las Vegas for 28 years I just up and left for greener (literally) pastures.

    I spent a year searching for the soil I had to have.  Connie Brown my Realtor was a saint.  I would drag her all over the countryside trying to find a place I would even consider.  Sorry Connie. 

   Then one day I was just driving around town and passed this place.  I pulled over to the side of the road and it was love at first site, sent from heaven just for me to enjoy.  "Heaven Sent" 

    Eight years ago a friend asked me if I would like to go in halves with her on an incubator.  At first I thought, "What the heck would I want with an incubator?"  She explained to me that we could take the extra eggs my very prolific hens were laying, incubate them and sell them at the local small animal swap meet.  Well, I thought, that sounds like fun!  And that, my friends, is how it all began!

    My love affair with everything in nature was a gift from my beloved Father and Grandfather.  They are both gone now but every day I spend in the yard either gardening or working with my birds, is a day spent with them.  I'm sure they are up there watching.  Probably thinking I've lost my mind!  I love you guys,

    I truly hope you enjoy my site and return again and again.  All my birds are very strong, healthy and prolific.  They free range all through the Fall and Winter months.  Then get down to business in the Spring and Summer.  They are very happy little "buggers"!
